Short Video Snip of the Billy Currington Show We Put On Last Year at Mallory Square in Key West

Howdy, gang, it's DJ Rowdy with our first video ever posted to the blog.

To begin, I'd like to thank all of you new viewers of the Cowboy Bill's Blog who found us through my news site, http://www.a1anews.blogspot.com/

The emails from you new readers to the news blog ask a lot of questions about about Cowboy Bill's. Frequently asked questions are "What on Duval Street are you near, how big is the club, are we an outdoor bar, do we serve food, etc., etc.

What I will soon do is write up a tour with photos of the entire bar. This will not only benefit new people who've never visited our bar but who are planning on coming to Key West for a vacation, but I believe some of you CBHTS veterans who haven't visited in a year's time would be shocked at how much we've expanded and improved the place over the past year.

That said, I have got to give a shout out to Kim who sent me a short video she found on youtube. This video was shot when we had Billy Currington for three nights back in April 2008. Kim attended the show(s) in Key West and just happened to think to see if anyone had posted video of any of them. She wanted me to know that she loved the show at Mallory Square, but she particularly held the after-show and the next night's show on our small intimate stage at Cowboy Bill's as two of her favorites of all time.

I think I speak for everyone at Cowboy Bill's when I say the Billy Currington shows on our stage were mind blowing and gave us all goose pimples.

My favorite song of all was when Billy Sang the old Marvin Gaye hit, "Let's Get It On". I've never heard anyone come close to Marvin's version, until, that is, Billy Currington took that song to a whole new place. If any of you have a video of that one sung from our stage, I'd buy you a $20 drink tab at our bar.

That said, here's our first video posted to this blog.

And if any of you have videos from the club which you'd like to share with me, send them to me via my personal email: rocktrueblood@gmail.com

I check my personal email more frequently than the blog's email. But you can still email me too at cowboybillskw@gmail.com

Again, thanks to all you new viewers to this bar's blog who came over from my news blog, http://www.a1anews.blogspot.com/ . I promise to give you all a photo tour of the bar soon. I hope a lot of you will come down to Key West to vacation and search us out. Yes, we are four blocks away from the 200 block of Duval where a plethora of bars can be found, but, we are (stealing an old line from Irene, one of our owners) "damned hard to find, but damned worth it!"

She got that right.

When I do the tour with words and photos, I'll shoot both entrances, some street shots (to give you an inkling what the 600 block of Duval looks like), our door guys (Steve is hard to miss), and I'll even photograph bartenders and waitresses, barbacks, security and the owners. That way, you'll have a "score" card when you come to Key West.

And now, without further postponement, here's Kim's short video snippet of Billy Currington. Enjoy!

P.S. I just looked over all the videos of Billy Currinton on youtube. Not a single "LIVE" video of Billy Currington with "LIVE" sound shot anywhere else in the world sounds as good as this :52 second snippet. If any of you know who shot this video at Mallory Square, please, please, please have them email me.

I'd love to get the whole show.

p.p.s. By the way, the three band members from Billy on this video are the three guys from Chad Bradford's Band. They were incredible in that they had just a few minutes to rehearse with Billy LIVE on our stage the previous night.

This goes to show you the caliber musicians who play our stage. And keep in mind there is no cover charge . . . unless it's a big event like the 2nd Annual Git 'R Wet T-Shirt Contest or Billy Currington.

For 99% of the time throughout our year, NO COVER CHARGE. And you see guys like Chad Bradford, Kyle Jennings, Chas Blakemore, Scarekrow, and so on and so forth. Great bands, no cover charge.

If you don't know Chad Bradford or his music, be sure to click on his link on the left hand margin of this blog.
