Greetings from Cowboy Bill's Honky Tonk Saloon in Key West, Florida

Greetings from Cowboy Bill's Honky Tonk Saloon
in Key West, Florida

Hey Y'all!

Welcome to the new blog for Cowboy Bill's Honk Tonk Saloon in Key West.

This blog will inform you about everything going on at the Southernmost Honky Tonk in the Whole USA.

Photos from previous night events, videos of special occasions, reportage on promotional contests and more will be posted here so as to add more up to the minute news to our website.

Speaking of our website, the other night I was surprised to learn that a few of our regulars and most of you visitors from out of town have never visited it. To go there, just click on the following address www.cowboybillskw.com and you will be directed to our opening page.

Top Tip: Where to Go to See Sexy Bull Riders

When you get there, look on the right hand margin and find the "Come Ride the Bull" link. That will take you to our 24/7 webcam which is always directed at the mechanical bull. And yes, this link has the highest "hits" of any Key West webcam when the Wednesday Night Sexy Bull Riding Contest is in full gear at 11:30 PM.

So, if you are an out-of-towner who needs your "Cowboy Bill's of Key West" fix for fun and frivolity, click on the link on our webpage now, or, to make it easier, click on the following red highlighted words "Bull Cam" and I'll take you there now.

Further down our website's right hand margin is a link for our second webcam marked "Stage Cam". What many of you never knew about this link is it provides sound as well as video of every one of our bands. So, you can kick back at home in Maine, Canada, Germany, Norway, South America, California or wherever you live and not only watch your favorite bands, but listen to their sets as they perform live on our stage.

Top Tip #2: The 3 Hours Every Week When Cowboy Bill's Stage Cam Offers Free Dance Lessons

The Stage Cam is always pointed at our stage, except early on Tuesday Nights, from 7 PM to 10 PM. For these 3 hours, we point the Stage Cam at our dancefloor as this is the time every week where locals and visitors learn how to dance from our very own Cowboy Bill's Key West dance instructor, DJ Jay Floyd.

It is now 8:37 PM, Tuesday Night, and as I am setting up this Cowboy Bills blog, I can listen to music and dance instructions called out by Jay while viewing some of our very best customers . . . and a passel of tourists . . . as they learn to 2 Step to a Dwight Yoakum song, slow waltz to a Faith Hill number, or line dance to a Brooks & Dunn fave.

(Click on the following highlighted red words "Stage Cam" and I'll take you there now. )

Just a minute ago, Jay was teaching the crowd a new line dance with intricate instructions such as "Left foot crosses the right, stop, dip, one step back, stop, stomp," and so on.

While the music was playing and the instructions were being called out, my video monitor was showing 20 people or more learning how to dance these steps. And you can practice these party steps at home with Jay and his Dance Party Posse by simply bringing this Stage Cam up on your computer every Tuesday Night from 7 PM to 10 PM and expanding the video to take up your whole screen on your monitor.

By the way, to expand either one of our webcam images from small to large, just left click your mouse twice. The whole screen will then fill in with the live video of dancers, bands and bullriders.

And be sure to turn up the Sound!

Another Top Tip: The Best Place for You or Your Friends to Be Seen LIVE on One of Our Webcams.

If you really want to give the folks back home something to talk about, call them up when you're next at Cowboy Bill's Honky Tonk Saloon and have them bring up the webcam aimed at our mechanical bull.

During daylight hours, you or your friends can stand behind that inflatable bull pit railing (red) and wave to one another while talking on your cellphones.

Better yet, if you or your loved ones are down home at Cowboy Bill's on a Wednesday through Saturday nights and the bull is bucking, get up on the bull and show the whole world your best "stuff".

Attention!

Be sure to read a blog post later this week about two very special concerts on Friday and Saturday this weekend!

One of the shows will take place at Mallory Square on Friday the 18th of April, 2008 starting at 6:00PM. Two bands will play, one of them our Feature Performer for this week: Chad Bradford.

Chad recently had a Top 40 country hit on radio "He Still Draws Them Together" which you might know. But check this out: the Artist for whom Chad is opening this coming Friday and Saturday has had 7 Top Forty Hits, a few of which were Number One on the Country Charts.

Who is coming to Key West this weekend?

Keep reading this blog to get the scoop.

Til' then, you can either come into the club and ask someone about the shows this coming weekend, or, if you live out of town, call someone at Cowboy Bill's Office (305) 295-8219 and ask about this mystery artist whom we will divulge in our next blog post.

Stay tuned!

I go to Cowboy Bills every Tuesday night for the line dancing. It is lots of fun. Jay is a great dance instructor and DJ.

Jay is not great, he's freaking INCREDIBLE.

The guy really, truly, knows how to break down any type of dance to Country Music and help you learn the step.

Next time you're in, be sure to tell DJ Jay, DJ Rowdy tips his cowboy hat to him. He does the stuff I could never attempt.
