Howdy Gang,
We're coming to the end of August (thankfully), the slowest month of our year in Key West.
Things are about to pick up in town, and it all begins next weekend, Labor Day Weekend with the following:
Sep. 3 through Sep. 5 - First ever Brew Fest in Key West. This event will bring 50 to 60 beer companies and micro-breweries to Key West in a "tasting" of their brews. The event will take place at the "upper" end of Duval and from what we understand, you buy an admission ticket and get to experience as many beers as you wish.
During the day, Friday and Saturday, Cowboy Bill's will open at 11 AM in the new Ms. Kitty's Bar (A/C, non-smoking, & plenty of sports on TV). Lunch and dinner will be served all day and until 12 midnight. Don't forget we have LIVE Entertainment on Ms. Kitty's stage throughout the day.
And then on Sunday Night, Sep. 5, 2010 Cowboy Bill's Honky Tonk Saloon will have a big showcase with new rising country star, Andy Velo.
Andy has been opening for Toby Keith all over the USA and is now about to release his first CD. Andy has created such a stir in Nashville, that Jim Beam's has signed up to sponsor him and his band. In fact, they are coming to Key West in a Jim Beam's tour bus.
The Andy Velo showcase will take place at night on the stage inside the Saloon Bar outdoors. The show begins at 10 PM.
Here is an Andy Velo music video to give you an idea of what this country artist and his very young band sound like:
The week following Labor Day Weekend we have two events hitting Key West at the same time:
September 7 through September 12 - Women's Fest
For the third year in a row, by overwhelming popular demand, Jennifer Corday and the Country Cougars from California will be playing at Cowboy Bill's.
Corday and her "Redneck Lesbos" will be playing our main stage outdoors in the Saloon Bar on Thursday the 8th. Showtime is 10 PM, and the wild galz will be playing 'til 2AM. The same night we will be having another one our Women's Fest Bull Riding Contest.
On Saturday the 11th from 10PM til 2 AM, Corday and her Country Cougars will be playing for Cowboy Bill's "Tickled Pink Dance Party". There will be a Bull Riding Competition on Saturday night as well.
Corday is so popular with the crowd she and her gang will also play two daytime slots indoors on Ms. Kitty's stage. These two shows will take place Friday and Sunday (September 10th and September 12th) from 6PM to 9PM.

By the way here is Corday singing her hit "Redneck Lesbo":
Poker Run/Bike Week Sep. 16th - Sep. 19th, 2010
Ask anyone who has ever been to Poker Run/Bike Week in Key West . . . it is the most fun motorcycle extravaganza in the USA.
And this year, Cowboy Bill's plays an intregal part in Poker Run 2010:
Thusday, September 16th, we have a Biker Babe Burlesque starting on our main stage at 9:30 PM.
Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th we will have our regular Biker Babe Sexy Bull Riding Competition.
And Saturday night, for the first time ever, Cowboy Bill's will host the final hand of Texas Holdum for the Peterson's Poker Run where the winer will receive a 2010 Harley Davidson 883 Sportser.
Click here for details on how to enter the Peterson's Key West Poker Run 2010.
Here are a couple videos from past Poker Run's in 2007 and 2009 to give you an idea of what the town looks like during this event. And by the way, this year, like last year, the Police Department will close down Duval Street from the 100 block through the 600 block . . . meaning you can park your bikes right out in front of Cowboy Bill's and not get ticketed!
Hope to see you here for one of the above events!
